A UPF 50 coating on the fabric reflects the sun's damaging rays while a wide, sloping brim protects your face, neck and ears from direct exposure to the sun. We have added a "secret pocket" in the top of the hat for stashing a few dollars or perhaps your credit card while using this great hat. The brim is made with a layer of foam sandwiched between the layers of fabric, allowing the hat to float if it inadvertently lands in the water. The upper side of the brim is a light color to further reflect the sun while the underside is a dark color to reduce the sun's glare. A drawcord in the back lets you adjust the hat to your head's size while a drawcord under the chin helps keep your hat in place during windy conditions. There is also mesh on each side of the hat to allow for added ventilation while in the hot sun.
