Fragrant, cream to greenish-white vase-shaped blooms are produced singly (female) or in clusters (male) held facing downward and rather inconspicuous without close observation. Ovate to elliptical leaves up to 6-inches in length emerge dark green then turn to shades of yellowish-green or reddish-purple in fall before dispersing.
