A vintage Battersea pewter thimble was used to make this uniqie Christmas ornament. This thimble has amazing details featuring women's faces scattered over the surface in an Art Nouveau style. Each face is different with a distinct expression. The bottom rim of this pewter thimble is marked Battersea Pewter LTD 1978.

I cleaned, drilled, and polished a metal thimble. A red crystal bead flanked by two silver-tone metal beads were wire wrapped to the thimble. A sturdy hoop suspends the piece from a piece of bright red ribbon. This older pewter thimble has a nice, shiny patina. The thimble and wire wrapped beads are 1 3/4 inches (45mm) in length while the string hangs an additional 3 inches (76mm). The total length of the ornament hangs 4 3/4 inches (121mm).
