Plants are covered with a continual flush of one inch, red petaled blooms with short yellow stamens, borne in groups of two or three, which lend beautiful contrast to the dark leaf coloring. Uses: These tropical native plants perform best in full sun to light shade with consistently moist but, well drained soil and high humidity. Beautiful planted in mass or used as an edging for mixed beds and borders. Also works well in containers and as a houseplant. Germination requirements: Surface sow to sterile sowing medium indoors in late winter or early spring. Seeds are very small or dust-like.
