When I lived in Queens, New York, the neighborhood bakeries were filled with sugar skulls and other Dia de los Muertos commemorations of this Mexican holiday celebration. They worked perfectly with Halloween as well. To create this ornament, I printed a vintage image on heavy luster paper with archival inks, bonded it to hardwood, then cut it out individually with my Excalibur scrolling saw.
