The high output current switching power supply features 156,000 microfarads of capacitance for nearly inexhaustible current reserves, and complete compatibility with low impedance 4 ohm speaker loads. Built around a newly designed seven-channel high current amplifier, the DTA-9.4 is capable of delivering 120 Watts per channel into 8 ohm, and 240 Watts per channel into 4 ohm! At the heart of the DTA-9.4 is our new VL Digital Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technology. Each channel of the DTA-9.4 features a completely independent circuit topology for superior sonic reproduction and fidelity. The amplifier benefits from an ultra low internal impedance design, thanks to the extensive use of copper bus bars and heavy-gauge wiring, which provide superior response to transients and variations in the speaker load. For use with compatible equipment, such as the Integra DTC-9.4 preamplifier/processor/tuner, the amplifier features gold plated balanced XLR inputs for improved signal transfer. There are also high quality gold-plated terminals for standard unbalanced connections to A/V controllers.
