Hand turned, reclaimed hardwood kitchen pestle, masher and/or kraut stomper. This is made from 100% reclaimed hardwood with beautiful light chocolate coloring in the wood. It is 14" in length, has a nice triple bead center handle, and has 2 different sized ends. One end is 2" wide and the other end is almost 2 1/2" wide. Both ends have a nice straight, flat edge, giving more surface area for mashing, and is finished with a natural, food safe finish. As this is turned from a reclaimed piece of wood, it may have small nail holes, worm holes, gouges, saw marks, or other various marks left from the original piece of wood. These are not flaws, but rather remnants of history and characteristics of the age of the wood. All of my products are turned from reclaimed or salvaged wood. I do not buy commercially prepared blanks or pay to have trees taken down. I use only urban wood, wood local to my area, or wood I find that I can reuse.
