Soft lavender-blue flowers occur along the many branched 12-15 inch tall spikes beginning in early July and continuing on through mid-September. The small tubular flowers are two-lipped and tightly packed giving way to small fuzzy seed pods in late season. The grey-green opposite leaves are coarsely toothed and 1-2 ½ inches long by 1 inch wide decreasing in size up the stems. The pungent foliage releases a scent reminiscent of a mix of lavender and sage. Easy to grow from seed and maintenance free once established. Uses/Culture: Perennial beds and borders, cottage gardens, accent plant (color, form). Plants perform best in cooler climates with full sun exposure. Adequate drainage is essential for plants to survive wet winters.
