This is our take on a classic farmhouse table. The border is beautiful chestnut oak from cabin wood we got out of Carthage, TN that is completely true pegged through. We took the cabin wood that were rough cut 4x8 beams and milled them in half then cleaned them up. The grain pattern we found was very impressive and the pegged border really sets off the design. The walnut middle consists of 60 pieces we made like a cutting board and inserted in place. The walnut is from Woodville Alabama, and originally came out of Illinois where the flooring plant had shut down and the pieces from this table were being burned. Thankfully, we found this soon enough. It would have been a real shame to burn beautiful wood like this.
