• The Cork Oak is mainly be found in the western Mediterranean region, especially in Portugal, but also in Spain, Italy, Sardinia, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco.
• The evergreen Cork Oak is a roundish shaped tree with shiny dark-green leaves and a wide spreading crown, that grows rarely straight up, but picturesque gnarled with a thick corky bark. Its name stems from the massive cork crust that already covers the stem of young trees. The Cork Oak can produce during its lifetime up to 200 kg of cork that is us .....
