Comes fully assembled. Overall dimensions are 15"W x 11 3/4"H x 14"D (7 1/4" steps). Our step stools are meticulously constructed of 3/4" kiln-dried southern cypress. Other step stools are made of inferior plywood, particle board or heavy hardwoods. Joinery is performed with hidden wooden dowels which have been shown to be almost twice as strong as wood screws. Dowel joinery also makes for a more aesthetic presentation than other step stools that use visible wood fillers or plugs. We place small felt pads at each corner of our step stools to eliminate possible damage to hardwood, laminate, tile and/or linoleum flooring within your home. Our step stools have been stress tested with loads in excess of 300 lbs and have shown no signs of structural or cosmetic distress. Cypress has a natural preservative called cypressene which makes it more resistant to decay than other wood species like pine or oak. Also, Cypress is about 10% lighter than pine and 30% lighter than oak. Cypress also has a beautiful grain pattern when left unfinished, sealed or stained. Cypress can also be painted your favorite color with ease.
