THEY LOVE HEAT AND SUNSHINE and are VERY DROUGHT TOLERANT...as illustrated by my photo #4, of the tree planted in the highway median....getting no care beyond Nature and the occasional spring pruning. THEY ARE SUPER TREES AND AREN'T PLANTED ENOUGH. Mexican Buckeyes, members of the soapberry family, are related to the North American species, but Mexican Buckeyes are such unusual plants that they are the only species in their genus.
