Use a torch to light the P-tex candle, keep the candle very close to the metal scraper to keep it from oxidize, so that the drip candle can maintain very good quality. Hold at a 45° angle about 1" above the gouge (you want a blue flame, not yellow, adjust height to achieve this. drip the candle into the gouge carefully. Wait for the candle to cool down(about 10-15 minutes) after the gouge in filled. then use a metal scraper to remove the excess ptex candle. WARNING!!! They burn extra-hot (in excess of 970°F) which helps consume some of the undesirable black carbon created while the candle burns
