Makes a wonderful gift for your favorite fiber friend. The yarn is fed through the swoop as shown in the picture (yarn and needle not included) keeping it from tangling. This piece was thrown in a dark buff stoneware clay. It was base glazed in a dark brown matte glaze. Dark Green Glossy glaze was added over the brown at the rim. There is a slight texture on the outside and a "swirl" inside the bowl. Hand-thrown and glazed pottery retains the touch of the potter with throwing lines and slight imperfections.
