'Ice Plant' Mesembryanthemem criniflorum (Ice Plant) A low growing annual with spreading growth habit, Ice Plant produces masses of two-inch daisy-like flowers in a wide range of colors. Color mix may include red, orange, yellow, pink, white, or purple. They are drought tolerant, and will thrive along the edges of a sidewalk or along a rock wall. The stem and leaves are dotted with tiny transparent bubbles, that look like beads of ice. Carpet like growth with leaves that appear to be sprinkled with ice crystals. Produces a glowing display in full sun on beds, borders, dry banks, rockeries, etc. A plant that positively thrives in dry, hot sunny borders or rockeries. Succulent, fleshy-leaved plants cover the ground quickly, clothed in a sparkling array of vibrant colors, including bicolors. Flowers all summer. Germination: 14-30 days, 60-85F. Well-drained soil. 4-6 in.
