This is a set of 3 nice ammonite fossils. Two of the ammonites were found in Morocco (the first 2 ammonites pictured). The first measures 4 1/4 inches in length and the second is 3 3/4 inches in length. The other ammonite is from Madagascar and dates back to approximately 120 million years old. It is 3 inches in length. These are great items for educational purposes or for starting or adding to a fossil collection! Ammonites were prehistoric marine creatures related to the modern day cuttlefish, squid, and octopus family. Ammonites are called cephalopods because their heads and tentacles protruded out of the same opening; they grew by building larger chambers onto their shells.
