Proper CFL Usage: CFLs work best in fixtures that are on for a substantial amount of time per day (minimum 15 minutes per use). For best performance, use in fixtures that allow airflow, such as table lamps, wall sconces, pendants, and outdoor fixtures. If your lamp is connected to a dimmer or a three-way socket fixture, be sure to look for CFLs that specify use with dimmers or three-way fixtures. For recessed fixtures, it's better to use a reflector CFL that evenly distributes the light down to your task area. Do not use in set locations. Not recommended with motion detectors or photocontrols. Do not use with dimmers. Do not use on 3-way lamps.
