The tortoiseshell pickguard adds a classic visual touch to the Valentine model. Showcasing a stunning figure, the select roasted maple neck comes dressed in a gunstock oil and hand-rubbed special wax blend finish for a smooth fretting-hand feel while the 10 -radius maple fingerboard houses 22 high profile, medium width stainless steel frets for outstanding playability. Ernie Ball Music Man's signature sculpted neck joint allows for smooth access to the higher frets.As far as sound goes, the Valentine model is a one-stop shop thanks to its versatile electronics. Ready to cover all the sonic territory that you need, the Valentine model comes equipped with a custom wound Music Man single-coil pickup with staggered pole pieces in the bridge position and a custom Music Man humbucker in the neck position. Adding to the tonal flexibility of this guitar, the electronics include a 3-way custom wired lever pickup selector and a Custom Music Man active preamp featuring a passive tone control with coil-tapping for custom split pickup configurations and a push/push volume control with built-in +20 dB gain boost for when you need some extra sonic horsepower.The Valentine comes loaded with high-quality, performance-ready hardware including a Music Man Modern hardtail bridge with vintage bent steel saddles, a set of Schaller locking tuners, and a compensated nut.
