This cantilever position of this scope mount gives an additional 2" of eye relief for those scopes or rifles that need the extra room. The one piece construction of the mount and rings gives it extra strength and rigidity to help with keeping zero and less chance of torqueing the scope tube. Made to hold up even under the heaviest recoil.

The rings feature 20mm rail mounts on top of them for extra accessories like a LASER or Reflex sight system. Mounting this way will not affect the scope at all, keeps stress of the scope tube. The open sighting area under the rings allow use of some iron sights. Great for rifles where you need the extra eye relief or to move the scope forward on the rifle.
