This two piece butter crock was hand-thrown on the potters wheel in a white stoneware clay. The piece was first glazed in a beautiful semi-matte light sienna brown, then a glossy translucent brown glaze was placed on the top rim which works beautifully with the texture on the lid. The inside is glazed in a non-toxic cream colored glaze. Dishwasher safe. The top is flat to allow it to sit properly on the table when butter is being served. Dimensions are 3.5" x 3.5". Holds 1 stick of butter, maybe a little more!
