• Viburnum opulus 'Roseum' is absolute beautiful foliage plant for late spring, early summer picking. From early May, this is covered in bright acid-green fluffy footballs and elegant indented leaves. As the flowers mature, they move through creamy-green into pure white.
• Originally known as V. opulus which is still in use in lieu of the now accepted nomenclature. A large rounded shrub reaching 10-12'. Probably the oldest known garden viburnum as it was recorded in the 16th century as "Sambucus Rose". The Russian composer, writer, and folklorist, Ivan Petrovich Larionov, is most famously remembered for Kalinka, a song he composed in 1860, which remains one of Russia's most famous and most performed songs.
• Sow indoors: all year long Pre-soak the seeds for 24 hours in water (20°C / 68°F), then stratify for 12 months at 5°C (e.g in refrigerator). Keep them moist for all this time(very important!) It can be slow to germinate. After 12 months, seeds are ready to sow. Sow onto moist seed sowing compost (coco coir) in trays or pots and just cover with 10mm (½in) of soil. When large enough to handle, prick the seedlings out into individual pots.
• Germination can be slow, sometimes taking more than 18 months. Don't forget about frequent spray (better than watering - doesn't destroy seedlings and will be basted evenly). For best results use rainy water.
