The Thomas Ferguson Irish Linen Company was established in 1854 in Banbridge County Down from where it still operates to this day. Thomas Ferguson Irish Linen is dedicated to maintaining its reputation as the weaver of the world's most prestigious linen fabrics. This is the only company in the world that produces Irish Damask Linen products. The company bears the name of its founder Thomas Ferguson who died at 80 years of age in 1900. Operating now for more than 160 years the company is a true Irish institution.

Care Instructions

With a minimum amount of proper care, the natural beauty of linen is easily maintained. Linen is the strongest natural fiber known to man, and of all textile fibers is the one which washes best. Provided a few simple rules are followed your Irish Linen will remain in pristine condition for years. Linen increases in strength when wet, which is why it stands up to the rough and tumble of repeated laundering so well. Commercial soap powders and liquid detergents can be safely used but as with all other textiles, always test for color fastness. Avoid detergents which contain Optical Brightening Agents (O.B.A.) as they may cause colors to alter. Avoid using bleach as a cleansing agent, this is any natural fibers worst enemy. Iron when damp and never tumble-dry as this can over-dry the fibers and makes ironing more difficult. Irish linen is naturally mothproof and is best stored rolled.
