TPenn State went undefeated in 1947 and was ranked 4th. It had a tie with SMU in the cotton bowl. This trophy was awarded to Jeff Durkota, Penn state right halfback. Led the team with 10 touchdowns in 1947. Was drafted and played in 1948 for LA Dons. Jeff Durkota - was there senior and a leader on the team. This is probably his Senior and or end of the season award. I don't recall if he was the school mvp or not. Trophy is complete with aging on the trophy. the name plate has Jeff Durkota - Right Halfback, then a list of all the games played in 1947 and there scores as well as 1948 cotton bowl score.
