In the old times, kuman thong were made from fetuses that where surgically removed from a mother's womb. They where used for preforming black magic and necromancy rituals. The fetuses where usually burnt and then covered with gold leaflets. Hence the name 'Golden Boy'.

The first Kuman Thong was created by the legendary Khun Pean who lived between 1491-1529. He was a monk, a fighter and a lover of magic.
