Here is another carpet that needs me to re-photo but I am not sure even though I take the photos of this carpet, I would be able to show you how beautiful this handwoven all natural dye beauty is. About 50 years old, immaculate condition. A midlands Turkey classic with many details. The colors on the carpet show the quality of the dye used on the wool. The details on the border show the quality of the work on the carpet. I suggest it must have taken a good 5-6 months for at least two ladies to complete the rug in this quality. The survival of the carpet to date in this condition shows that those ladies were well experienced and knew what they were doing. This is possibly a masterpiece of the weavers, similar to Beethowen's 5th symphony. 10.66 x 5.44 ft (325 x 166 cm). Long and large. Woolen all natural dye Konya carpet. The three medallions on the field are formed of a motif which we call a 'dragon', it is a motif traditionally used for protection, symbolising power, strenght and wealth, quite similar to the dragons of the east.
