Flesh is deep orange in color with a moderately fine texture. The taste is extremely sweet when mature and richly flavorful - considered by professional taste panels to be one of the very best flavored citrus in the world! As an additional benefit, the fruit is seedless and easy to peel. Gold Nugget is remarkably frost tolerant and begins bearing in March, after other mandarins, thus extending the season. Also, unlike other mandarins, the fruit holds well on the tree through summer. If you only have room for one citrus tree, this should be the one! Our One Year-Old Trees are generally 12"-16" tall with a trunk diameter of about 1/4". They are growing in a 4 x 9" container of soil. Within a month of delivery, it is best to repot into a larger container (~8-10" diameter) to give the roots more room to grow. Trees are shipped within 7 to 10 days of orders being placed.
