My handcrafted, wood box frames are durable and look great This frame is built with 1x3" Poplar. Each box frame has splines made from the exotic wood, Wenge. Which is a great dark accent with light to medium stains. The stain used on the outside of the frame is honey or bleached blue and the inside trim is painted black. Then the entire frame is finished with a clear coat of polyurethane. The polyurethane is for protection and also enhances the grain in the Poplar.
