Prim Vintage Massachusetts Silent Butler with Vintage Quilt Hearts Table Decoration
DESCRIPTION
This sweet small silent butler was made in Taunton, Massachusetts (Copper Craft Guild? ~ located on bottom; difficult to read). Silent butlers were used years ago to collect table crumbs or as receptacles when emptying ash trays. This silent butler is made of a copper like metal with a wooden handle. Embossed on the lid is a spinning wheel which I believe is the signature design from this company. I have filled it with two hearts made from a vintage "postage stamp" quilt that I believe to be made between the 1940's to the early 1960's. (This is my guess due to the designs and the quality of the materials.) I have a added a few strands of pip berries in complimentary colors. The silent butler is approximately 6" long (including the handle) by 4" wide. Such a cute display piece with a bit of history added!!!!
