DESCRIPTION

The Q Sapphire and Q Onyx are designed for large area and large species 'canna' cultivation while consuming a reasonable quantity of energy and efficiently generate modest µmol output. The Q grows thriving plants bigger and fuller than any other LED grow light of similar power input. All Q Series cultivation lights put out a huge quantity of photons with very little lost on heat, which equals high photon generation per watt. In the past, critics of LED cultivation lighting complained of poor light penetration. This disappointment is still spoken of most LED grow lights today. The reason for this is that they were designed to illuminate a flat, 2 dimensional area below it and not a 3 dimensional plant. Were they only thinking about getting good µMol readings and only under optimal conditions? One obvious consequence of many designs is what we call "PAR Fade" and Drop Leaf Syndrome. The manifestation of this are those starving yellow leaves you notice half way down and at the bottom limbs of the plant. These grow lights cause stunting of the lower limbs of plants and usually must be pruned off to prohibit pests and disease to set in. The Q solves the PAR Fade issue making Drop Leaf Syndrome a thing of the past. The lenses fitted to The Q are designed to illuminate complex 3 dimensional shapes. The Q Sapphire or Onyx does not need to sit directly overhead of the plant, but rather to the side like the Sun does and shines light anywhere from 250 to 450 angle. The light can penetrate all the way to the stem or trunk of the plant, from top to bottom and encourage plants to grow up and laterally without much pruning.

  • Every Q Sapphire is fitted with lenses that shape the light for the ENTIRE plant, not just the top of the plant. "PAR fade" and "low limb leaf drop syndrome" are common complaints when an LED grow light uses 5 watt chips. There simply aren't enough photons emited from each lens for photosynthesis. The Q solves these issues with the optics in combination with our 80 watt EPAR, COB tech. The Q features interchangeable optics. You can even mix 2 types.
