These vibrant crimson berries can't be missed! Fill a bowl or arrange them in a vase with or without other flowers for an eye-catching display. In the wild these densely clustered berries remain bright red even throughout the winter. Accordingly, this makes smooth sumac a welcomed sight in the home during the cold, grey months. Rest assured smooth sumac is not poisonous. In fact, these berries are completely edible and commonly used for making a tart drink called "sumac-ade" (however, ours are intended only for display and crafting). In keeping with our goal to offer you the hardiest natural products, with careful handling and a moisture-free environment your sumac branches will last indefinitely. Some berries will become dislodged during shipment and with handling, but the majority will remain firmly on the branch so you can enjoy them for years. Our smooth sumac branches have been naturally dried with no chemical preservatives or dyes. Their color will change slightly with age, but very little. Note that only the sumac branches are for sale; all other display pieces are not included.
