Try to burn candles long enough so that the entire top layer melts to the sides before being extinguished. A candle should be burned at least 1 hour for each inch in diameter. If you want to burn your candle longer 4 hours, you should extinguish the candle after 3 hours, then trim the wick carefully and relight it. This will give you extra hours of clean burning. PLEASE NOTE: Soy candles may develop "frosting" or cool with a rough, uneven surface after burning. This occurrence is a normal characteristic of soy and in no way diminishes the quality of your candle. ALSO NOTE: These candles are not meant to provide overwhelming fragrance (which would be hard to achieve in all natural soy without any harmful additives). They can certainly be expected to provide a pleasant fragrance in a small space such as a bathroom or bedroom. However, If you are looking to fill a large area, consider purchasing two candles or perhaps using soy melts in addition to one of our candles to enhance the fragrance in your space.
