Wine Country Art is the exclusive reseller of Claudia Wagar's famous wine country original watercolors by commission, limited-edition giclee prints (with certificates of authenticity attached) and lithographic prints. Ms. Wagar may be the most famous of all wine country artists in California. Anyone familiar with California's wine country art scene will attest to the stature of Claudia's work, and visitors to her Sonoma gallery from around the world have chosen her paintings as their favorite mementos of the Wine Country experience. Named by Wine Spectator as "Sonoma's Landscape Artist", she has created murals in downtown Sonoma and various Valley wineries and hotels, public facilities and also the Sonoma Plaza itself. She created the official posters for many Napa and Sonoma Valley art fairs over the last 28 years. Her paintings combine the unique atmosphere of this Mediterranean climate with the daily and seasonal scenes that characterize life in the wine country. She paints with exceptional detail and skill honed with some of the most famous California masters including Robert Bechtle, Ralph Borge, and Dennis Oppenheim.
  • Claudia's comment: "I was commissioned to do the artwork for the Sonoma Jazz Festival, and while enjoying a cool Chardonnay on the Sonoma Hotel patio a musician set his glass and trumpet down on the white tablecloth. Bam- there it was! The setting sun glowing through the wine and rinsing the trumpet with reflected metallic dark red."
