In 1967, Chevrolet redesigned the Impala with Corvette-inspired bulging fenders redirecting the popular Coke-bottle styling of the day. With a strong emphasis on comfort and luxury, there was also a market for a huge, 17.7 ft long muscle car. Behold, the SS 427 Impala. The special bulged hood indicated there was a savage beast under those 3 vents. It was the 385 hp Turbo-Jet 427 cu. in. V8 featuring a performance-rated 4 bbl carb, dual exhaust system, high-performance camshaft, and hydraulic lifters. Auto World has replicated this Marina Blue top-of-the-line Impala just it appeared when it rolled off the assembly line in 1967.
