They last longer - can handle the heat better than seeded geraniums... They grow much taller.. Main difference to see if you have seeded geranium VS Zonal geranium... On a Zonal the blossoms will not easily fall off with overhead watering - Seeded ones the petals of the blooms will fall off with the slightest touch of water on the blossom heads... Hence Zonals are much more showy Geraniums are GREAT in planters. Can be brought inside during frost or freezing temps to grow as an indoor plant Zonals usually can grow as much as 20" - 24" wide and tall... but usually more likely around 18" tall and wide
